ABOUT GRACE

Grace Chiang is one part ambitious creative, one part meticulously methodical idea architect. From growing up playing classical piano, to working as a civil engineer, to now paving a new path in the music industry with her fresh pop production sound, Grace embodies the delicate dichotomy between an individualist dream-chaser, and a pragmatic realist of a second generation Chinese-Canadian artist. Her aura sits in the world of the modern day millennial sad girl, paired with an underlying fierceness in her punchy yet chill hip hop inspired beats. She is inspired by the versatility of legendary producers like Timbaland and Jack Antonoff, and the enigmatic feminine energy of Sabrina Claudio and Lana Del Rey. Skilled in every aspect of music creation, you will find Grace at the helm of the songwriting, production, and engineering rooms.

Growing up just outside Vancouver, BC, Canada, Grace made her way into the music scene starting out as the assistant audio engineer at Echoplant Recording Studios, apprenticing Juno award-winning producer Ryan Worsley (Dear Rouge, Monowhales). Pretty soon, Grace proved herself to be a multi-hyphenate ambitious creative. In 2021, she was a finalist in Music BC's Canadian Songwriting Challenge, which led to mentorship from Grammy and Juno Award-winning producers Chin Injeti and Shadi (of Dirty Radio). Shortly after, Grace was chosen as one of six women across Canada to participate in Music Publishers Canada's Women in the Studio National Accelerator program in 2022, which took her network across the country to Toronto. She became a participant of the 2023 RBC Launchpad Music Entrepreneurship Program. She was also one of two producer-engineers chosen for She Is the Music's global mentorship program, founded by Alicia Keys, and was mentored by multi-platinum vocal producer Simone Torres (Dua Lipa, Becky G). Grace is a passionate advocate for women and underrepresented artists in the music industry, always looking for ways to create change and challenge the status quo. When she is not producing music, she is producing professional development initiatives such as live showcases and conferences.

Grace's latest musical project is a collaborative portfolio following the footsteps of Timbaland's Shock Value and Mark Ronson's Uptown Special, except it is entirely created by women and BIPOC artists. Listeners will be brought into a world of ethereal vibes, smooth melodies, and luscious pop vocal production that features the voices of rising songstresses like Rebecca Sichon and Emma Alves.
